The quantum technology job market experienced a rebound in February 2026, with the preliminary report (see Table 1) indicating a global increase of 17.0% in new job postings compared to January. All key regions showed positive growth, with Europe increasing by 21.3%, North America by 13.4%, and the Rest of the World by 13.6%.
This growth follows a more modest performance in January, where the final report (see Table 2) recorded a global increase of 7.7%. Europe experienced a slight decline of 0.9%, while North America grew by 11.4%. The Rest of the World observed an increase of 40.7% during this period.
In terms of the trailing 12-month count of new job postings, February 2026 reflects a global increase of 0.7% (see Table 3). Europe reported a decrease of 0.3%, while North America saw a growth of 1.5%. The Rest of the World recorded a 2.1% increase in this timeframe.
Table 4 provides an overview of the month-over-month percentage change in job postings over the last 13 months. The data indicates fluctuations across regions, with January 2026 marking a period of recovery after several months of decline. Notably, the Rest of the World experienced a downturn of -56.1% in December 2025, followed by a marked recovery with a 40.7% increase in January.
The year-over-year trends reveal a dynamic job market within the quantum technology sector. For example, Europe faced challenges with a peak decline of -29.5% in March 2025, but is now seeing growth. In North America, following a decrease of -23.8% in November 2025, the market has demonstrated consistent positive movement, culminating in a 13.4% increase in February.
These developments emphasize the importance of effective talent management and hiring strategies. The increases observed in February indicate a positive shift, while the previous year’s fluctuations point to the necessity for adaptable workforce planning. Additionally, the growth in the Rest of the World suggests potential opportunities that HR professionals and hiring managers may wish to explore.
