New Job Postings Decline for Second Month Running

Following a decline in monthly new quantum technology job postings in May, June proved to be even slower. Globally, the number of new job postings decreased by 11.6% relative to the May level, and regionally, North America and Europe both experienced notable declines, 15.1% and 10.9%, respectively (see Table 1 below). However, the Rest of the World experienced a small increase in June of 1.6% over activity in May.

The final report for May 2025 (see Table 2 below) indicates that global job postings decreased by 8.8% compared to April, with Europe decreasing by 6.1%, North America by 5.9% and the Rest of the World by nearly one-third less.

The trailing 12-month count of new job postings (see Table 3 below) shows that June 2025 activity, while considerably less than May 2025, has impacted the annual total number of job postings somewhat marginally.

These statistics reflect the complex and volatile dynamics of the job market and underscore the importance of strategically managing talent acquisition in the quantum technology industry.
