Annual Plan

Goals

  • Enhance QED-C’s position as the industry thought leader: • Position TAC leaders as authoritative voices in quantum discussions. • Publish authoritative industry positions on key workforce topics.
  • Amplify the collective knowledge of the quantum community: • Repurpose TAC outputs as accessible, public-facing, impact-focused content. • Communicate member success stories.
  • Shape international quantum policy development and implementation: • Draft position papers on key workforce issues. • Support development of international quantum education standards.
  • Secure strategic investment in quantum technologies: • Identify and communicate industry gaps and priorities to government stakeholders. • Support coordination among regional workforce development programs to maximize local economic impact.

Projects

  • Quarterly Quantum Career event: Revise the Office Hours program to a quarterly event that highlights the different careers and for those interested in working in the quantum industry. This will increase awareness of the different quantum jobs available now and in the future and the career pathways possible to reach those roles.
  • Develop mechanisms to incorporate student input on TAC workforce initiatives including the 2nd Career Forum and Fair, the quarterly quantum career events, and other initiatives focused on students that would benefit from acting in consultation.
  • “Voice of the Quantum Worker” report (in conjunction with Chicago Quantum Exchange): Information will help guide education/skills-building and ensure that we are scaling a talent pool with the right sets of skills – and creating a workplace that will attract talent. Of interest to both educators and employers.
  • Inform policymakers about workforce needs and gaps by drafting responses to requests for information and repackaging the “Voice of the Quantum Workforce” findings into accessible, impact-focused content to inform and influence policymakers.
  • Host the second annual Quantum Career Pathways Forum and Career Fair co-located with the QED-C plenary meeting in mid-November 2026.
