TimeTalk TitleDescription
10:15 AMIntroducing a new NIST/ASTM Center of Excellence for critical and emerging technology standards: ASCET
10:30 AMOverview of ASCETLaunched in early 2025, the Advancing Standardization for Critical and Emerging Technologies (ASCET) Center of Excellence is an initiative designed to stimulate U.S. leadership and engagement in the private sector-led international standardization system for critical and emerging technologies, such as quantum. ASCET supports tool and resource development, engagement, capacity building, and pilot programs while fostering collaboration across industry, academia, standards setting organizations, and government. ASCET exists as part of a cooperative agreement between ASTM International and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The anticipated result will be impactful industry-driven standards.
11:10 AMModerated Discussion Clare Allocca of NIST leads a moderated discussion to learn from you, the QED-C community, about standardization gaps and needs. ASCET seeks your candid feedback about the quantum standardization ecosystem and will share pre-read information and specific questions prior to the session to help direct the engagement.
