“A Guide to a Quantum-Safe Organization” is a concise yet wide-ranging introduction to preparing for future quantum computers which someday will be able to decrypt today’s most common key encryption standards. The Guide reviews this future threat, mitigation technologies such as post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and QKD, economic considerations, and practical steps organizations can take starting now. This is a single introductory source written for a broad audience. No advanced physics degrees required!
Update: On Tuesday, July 5th, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announced the first four quantum-resistant algorithms, marking a major milestone in the worldwide effort to create quantum-safe cybersecurity. Keeping current with this critical next step, QED-C has updated “A Guide to a Quantum-Safe Organization” to include these selections. Moving to quantum-safe practices is possibly the biggest transition in cybersecurity history and is estimated to roll out over 10 to 20 years.
