The third webinar in a three-part series will focus mainly on the DoD applications for magnetometers and magnetic navigation (magnav) in particular. This will include a discussion on the fundamentals of magnav, the current state of developmental efforts, as well as various challenges and opportunities that exist within the technological development process.

Dr Michael Slocum is a researcher and program manager at AFRL Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. He leads multiple internal and external initiatives developing and maturing quantum sensors for DAF applications, specializing primarily in magnetic sensing. He graduated with his PhD and BS degrees from Rochester Institute of Technology.
