Andrew Wilson
Quantum Physics Division Chief, NIST JILA, a joint NIST-CU institute.
Research focus is on demonstrating techniques for large-scale trapped-ion quantum computers including high-fidelity gates, new quantum gate schemes, mixed-species techniques, quantum gate teleportation, quantum error correction, and fault-tolerant methods, as well as technological developments such as micro- fabricated ion traps (including efforts to reduce electric-field noise from these), UV optics, and laser development.
Previously led an AMO research group at the University of Otago in New Zealand investigating ultracold matter (including Bose-Einstein condensates) and precision techniques in laser spectroscopy including ultra-sensitive cavity-enhanced schemes.
