Students, Showcase Your Research!

Calling all student researchers! Whether you’re currently pursuing an undergraduate degree, on your way to obtaining your PhD, or conducting postdoctoral research, QED-C invites you to submit an abstract for in-person poster presentations at our upcoming plenary meeting on March 20, 2024, at Northwestern University.

Abstracts must be received by Monday, March 4, 2024.

Selected students will participate in two additional exclusive opportunities for a full afternoon of programming:

  1. Speed-mentoring with current professionals in a variety of fields directly and indirectly related to quantum technology; and
  2. An interactive seminar on communicating research prior to your debut

Agenda

  • 2:30 PM – Check-in Arrive, set up your poster, and get ready for a packed afternoon.
  • 3:05 PM – Snacks and Networking
  • 3:25 PM – Speed Mentoring In small groups, you’ll converse with professionals working in areas relevant to the quantum technology industry
  • 4:45 PM – Skill up in SciComm Practice with experts on effective research communication
  • 6:00 PM – Poster Competition @ Plenary ReceptionNetwork with attendees as you present your research. The best posters in the undergraduate and graduate categories will receive a prize.



Applications must be submitted no later than March 1, 2024.

Good to know

  1. The selection process is competitive. All applications must be received by March 4, 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted.
  2. Selections will be made from current undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers.
  3. Volunteers from QED-C member organizations will vet submissions.
  4. Submission of an application is neither registration nor guarantee of acceptance. Selected posters will be notified no later than March 6, 2024, with further instructions.
  5. Selected applicants must be available to be on-site from 3 PM CT – 8 PM CT on March 20, 2024 and must be willing to travel to Evanston, Ill., in-person. There is no hybrid option for poster session attendance.
  6. Prizes will be awarded in the form of a gift card.
