Joshua Apanavicius is a Quantum Benchmarking intern at SRI International, focusing on implementing new and enhancing several existing application-oriented benchmark programs and techniques. Josh earned a BS in Physics and Mathematics in 2019. He is currently a MS student studying Quantum Information Science at Indiana University Bloomington, where he focuses on quantum simulation. Specifically, he is working on mapping chemical dynamics problems to spin lattice simulators. Prior to joining the MS program, Josh has had multiple internships at national labs, including Los Alamos and Brookhaven, where he worked on magnetic impurity detection for the neutron Electric Dipole Moment search (LANL) as well as animplementation of the Variational Quantum Eigensolver to calculate bound energy states of the Morse Potential (BNL).
