Daniel Mendez graduated in May 2020 from College of the Holy Cross with a BA in Computer Science and Physics. Right after graduating he started working full time at NASA Johnson Space Center as a Verification & Validation Test Engineer on the Lunar Gateway Project for two years. While working full time, he started his MS in Computer Science at The University of Texas at Austin to gain a deeper understanding of classical computers and Quantum Information Science. Daniel is currently participating in the Quantum Computing Mentorship Program, obtaining quantum programming certificates and participating in quantum hackathons. Daniel is motivated to develop quantum software that will lead to scalable, fault tolerant quantum computers used to help humanity in ways that classical computers cannot do alone. Outside of his career, Daniel enjoys reading the Bible to learn about Jesus Christ, working out in the gym and learning new dance moves.
